the kids scream, i scream, we all eat ice cream

I am a feedback type of person. I need perpetual feedback. Seriously people.

Happy news: Meghan is home! She and Dan moved back to the midwest. He'll be teaching at Madison again. Of course, she's leaving right away for a fabulous trip to Europe (in which I will go through horrible withdrawals not being able to talk to her every day), but then she's back for good. And a three hour drive is much better than a three hour flight!

Andrew took this picture, I have no idea what was so funny.

Haircut Friday

I have sweaty boys (not to be confused with Schweaty Balls). Carter's had a million hair cuts, but I had to have three people talk me into cutting Oz's hair. I'm not sorry I did it, he'll be much cooler now, but I am very sad about it (which is funny because Carter had his first haircut at 5 months old and I didn't bat an eye).

Who knows how often he'll actually sleep in there with Carter, but we're trying it out tonight. It's so bittersweet. If I knew I was going to have more babies I'd probably just work on nightweaning him and have him sleep with Carter, but since I think he's my last I feel like I should cherish every last second of it because pretty soon that chapter of my life will be over.

Oz has had a wonderful day. Thanks to those who called and for all the gifts he received. He's loving everything he got.

i about died from cute

We were at Chuck-E-Cheese (CEC) today for a birthday party. We've only been there a few times, but Carter is always, always fascinated by the dancing robot, puppet people dealies. Today, he was off on his own with his tokens riding rides and playing games (major achievement, he figured out how to play one and get tickets!). A friend's daughter brought me some pictures of Carter in the car with Chuck-e. He didn't know it took pictures, just that it moved. He was excited when he saw the pictures and I put them away. A little later, he pulled one out of the diaper bag and took it over to the robot, puppet dealies and showed his picture to each one in turn. I seriously just about cried. It was so cute and so precious and so....innocent. I really couldn't love him anymore. It's stuff like this that makes all the bad days melt away.

peeps are gross, bold party mix chex mix is delicious

Easter was sort of a fiasco here. We didn't celebrate last year, but this year Andrew decided he wanted to so I let him at it. He didn't approach it how I would have, but no one died and the kids were reasonably happy so I guess that's all that matters.

Carter and I dyed Easter eggs on Saturday.

We finally let Carter watch Cars. He's in love with the movie so he asked me to make him a Mater and Stickers (Lightning McQueen)

The kids found their Easter baskets. Oz got dried fruit and Carter got some chocolate, jelly beans, a Pez dispenser and a Curious George coloring book. The Lawson grandparents also sent gifts for the boys.

In the afternoon, we did an Easter Egg hunt.
